 Dr. David J. CooperAfter graduating from Georgetown University's School of Dentistry, Dr. David Cooper established a successful general dental practice in Lexington Park, Maryland. Offering reliable and high quality dental care, serving patients of all ages, the practice grew. The practice was renamed Tidewater Dental in 2003 and has expanded to offer a full range of services including general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, implants, orthodontics, oral surgery, periodontal therapy, and endodontics. Dr. Cooper actively participates in a number of professional organizations. He is a founding member of the St. Mary's Dental Study Club. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, and the Patuxent Dental Society. He has served as a delegate of the MSDA House of Delegates for the past 12 years. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the St. Mary's County Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Cooper is a recipient of the America's Top Dentists Award. |
 Dr. Todd D. Cooper DDSAfter graduating from the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Dr. Todd Cooper received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland - Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. He is the distinguished recipient of the Maryland Academy of General Dentistry Award for High Proficiency in Clinical Care and Patient Management. Dr. Todd Cooper is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has been a Delegate to the Maryland State Dental Association's House of Delegates since becoming a dentist. Dr. Todd Cooper is a Fellow in the prestigious Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry, achieving the highest level of training with laser tissue therapy. He is fully licensed to perform laser periodontal therapy (LANAP) and is the only dentist in St. Mary's County to hold that certification. He is known for his attention to detail and chair-side manner, as he enjoys educating patients about their dental condition and options. |
Dr. Wayne L. O'Roark Dr. O'Roark joined the Tidewater Dental team as our exclusive Implant dentist. He received his dental degree with honors from the University of Maryland where he was president of his graduating class, and elected to the Gorgas Odontological Honor Society and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. With 30 years of experience, Dr. O'Roark has placed in excess of 5000 implants. Unlike many dentists providing Implants, he is proficient in all of the implant types and prosthetics and can provide you with the proper implant procedures as dictated by your particular jaw conditions and your desires.Dr. O'Roark was appointed as a clinical graduate instructor of Implant Dentistry at the Dental School, University of Maryland in July, 2006. Dr. O'Roark is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral Implantology (ABOI). This recognition is the ultimate in the field of Implantology. He is the only dentist in Southern Maryland with this distinction. He received this certification in 1989 and was among the first 35 in the country to be so recognized. He is also a diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Society of Osseointegration, a fellow of the American College of Dentists, a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American Academy of Implants and Transplants. Dr. Rebecca Allen Dr. Rebecca Allen received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. After graduation, she continued her education by completing a General Practice Residency at York Hospital in Pennsylvania where she gained valuable experience caring for children and patients with special needs. Dr. Allen enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is thrilled to be a part of the Tidewater Dental team. Dr. Allen received a national award for High Achievement in Dental Care for Persons with Disabilities from the Special Care Dentistry Association and The Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities. |

Dr. Betaharon is experienced with all aspects of general dentistry. He regularly attends continuing education courses and is highly-versed in the dental literature allowing him to provide the most effective, modern, and conservative treatment to his patients. Dr. Betaharon is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, and the Maryland State Dental Association. In his spare time, Dr. Betaharon enjoys cooking, running, and snowboarding, and spending time with his wife and two wonderful daughters. |

 Dr. Charles DeRooAfter earning his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh's School of Dental Medicine, he continued his education earning his Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the State University of New York. Dr. DeRoo is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and specializes in the orthodontic and dentofacial orthopaedic care of children and adults of all ages. |
 Gregory Romanow, DMDCertified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and by the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Romanow graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Biology in 1997. He then attended the Temple University School of Dentistry. While there he was inducted into the Omega Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society and was awarded the prestigious Oral Surgery Award. |
